The Collection of Sidney Rothberg, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This lot is located in Philadelphia.

Condition
Framed: 25 x 33 1/4 in.The relined canvas in overall fair condition. The paint has been applied very thinly. With very thin craquelure visible at upper center in the foliage (slightly raising up) and on either side in the sky. Examination under UV light reveals a thick and heavy layer of old greenish varnish throughout. Restoration appears extended. First, alongside the lateral outer edges of the painting. We also notice at times localized, at other times broad, restoration campaigns. See at upper center left and center right in the sky (likely an old flaking condition) as well as in the foliage throughout. Broader restoration visible in the bottom tier, mostly on the path at bottom left quadrant. Additional images available upon request (including under UV).
